Scientist turned comedian, Ben Miller is this week’s celebrity challenger and he's got a clever tactic. Cooking sponge cake.
"I though sponge might be your weak point," says Ben.
"It is my weak point. Very clever," admits Gordon. Has Ben found a chink in the big man’s armour? Surely not.
Physicist Ben is so keen on a fair match he's brought in his own equipment - even his own oven thermometer - to make sure there's no funny business. But when he starts talking about nucleating particles, Gordon loses interest.
"Got any jokes?" He moans: "You're such a boffin."
But he's laughing on the other side of his face when the results come in. The Women's Institute have been called in as jury and they're impressed by Ben's traditional victoria sponge. It blows Gordon's swiss roll out of the water.
Gordon's not happy.
