Gordon Ramsay has declared that women 'can't cook to save their lives' and that poor old men are having to do all the work in the kitchen.
Is he right? Well, years ago the terms 'women' and 'kitchen sink' might have been frequently used in the same sentence. But according to a recent survey, it seems that the two are now far removed. Gordon's statements are based on these survey results which do seem to conclude that there is something rather problematic about women and kitchens.
Seven out of ten women, it found, slam a ready meal in the microwave and call it dinner at least once a week. Not good. And even more - 78% - admit that they simply do not eat a proper home cooked meal of an evening.
Men are far more likely to find cooking enjoyable, while women are more inclined to view dinnertime as a chore - another fact to emerge.
On a more positive note, it seems that of all those hapless ladies out there, a large chunk - 74% - regret the fact that they don't know how to cook and wish they had more knowledge and ability when it comes to the f word.
