After an hour Gordon comes back to the mash to see what's developed. The result is an alcohol-free, sweet, amber liquid, flavoured by the grains, called wort.
"That's amazing," says Gordon, sipping the early evolution of his beer.
It's tasty but there's still a long way to go before he gets to the good stuff.
