In north London pub, The Marquess Tavern, Gordon meets Will Beckett, an expert at matching gourmet beers with food.
Gordon's sceptical about beers new status.
"Beer's the new wine - that's bullshit isn't it?" he rants as he cooks up a simple veal dish ready for the tasting session.
Will's happy to induct Gordon into his beery fraternity.
"Beer doesn't have to replace wine but it has the whole range of flavours wine has and it goes with food."
