Here's how to nominate

To nominate a restaurant for The F Word's Best Local Restaurant all you have to do is go to The F Word Best Local Restaurant nomination form and follow the instructions.

Things to bear in mind

1. It needs to be a restaurant where two people can get two courses all for under £50 (excluding wine).

2. The restaurant must be independently owned - definitely no chains.

3. The restaurant must have at least 10 seats which also means no takeaways.

The nomination process is very simple. All you have to do is fill in the boxes as they pop up on your screen. We'll ask you to provide details of the restaurant you'd like to nominate, provide some information about yourself and answer some questions about the restaurant you'd like to nominate. We’ll be very careful about how we use that information: please see The F Word Best Local Restaurant terms and conditions to find out about how the data will be protected.

There are eight categories of restaurants, seven focused on specific cuisines (which have been chosen because they represent the most popular restaurants around the UK and/or provide interesting food content for the series) and one Open category which is there to make sure that no restaurant that falls outside the main seven is excluded from taking part. The seven culinary categories are: British, French, Italian, Spanish, Chinese, Indian and Thai.

Your nominated restaurant should be a place where two people can get two courses from the normal menu (not from a fixed price set menu) all for under £50 (excluding wine). The restaurant should be independently owned - definitely no chains. The restaurant should have at least 10 seats - which also means no takeaways. For full details of the nomination criteria please see The F Word nomination criteria. Once you've filled out The F Word Best Local Restaurant nomination form, you will be able to click through to another website where you will be able to apply for a seat in The F Word restaurant.

What happens after nomination?

At the end of the nomination period (currently the scheduled closing date is midnight on 26th July) all the restaurants nominated will be assessed according to the judging criteria. The best restaurants in each category will be featured on-screen in the next series of Gordon Ramsay's F Word. To find out more, please see The F Word judging criteria.
