Get into training for this unique television event with exclusive videos on 4Food
On January 18 at 9pm on Channel 4, Gordon Ramsay takes on his biggest challenge yet; to get a nation grown lazy on ready-meals and takeaways cooking again. Broadcasting live, Gordon will cook a simple delicious three-course meal so that you can copy his every move at home.
Here at 4Food we will give you everything you need to join in with this unique event. For ten days before the Cookalong, 4Food will stream exclusive web videos from Gordon Ramsay to get you up to speed in the kitchen. They say great cooking is all about preparation, and 4Food is where you'll get all the preparation you need. Using the 4Food 'how to' guide, even the most reluctant chef can train for the big day.
These video masterclasses will instruct you in the basic tips that every cook needs, from sorting out your kitchen to sharpening your knives. Along the way, Gordon will share a range of useful household tips to ensure you're ready for the grand finale. Don't know how to buy a great steak? Find out here.
During the guides, Gordon will be asking for viewers to interact with him. Users will be encouraged to send in videos showing their attempts to follow his example. Even hopeless cooks can join in, as you can send in pictures of your cooking disasters and food buying horrors. The winner of each daily challenge will win a signed cookbook, with the overall winner also receiving a top dinner at one of Gordon's restaurants.
On the night itself, the preparation will pay off in a thrilling, one-off hour of live cooking, featuring special guests, a simple yet delicious meal that you will be able to cook yourself in an hour and all the excitement of taking part in a unique and amazing event. Cooking alone or with friends - it's going to be a great night.
Joining Gordon on the show will be self-confessed culinary disaster area Chris Moyles. And as well as showing the nation how to cook a delicious three-course meal, Gordon will also be challenging Alan Carr and Max Beesley to take him on with their favourite recipes.
