  1. I entirely support Francesca's comments (12/12/08) regarding the plucking of live turkeys broadcast on Friday nights show. Completeley unnecessary and offensive and caused me to swich off a programme which I was previously enjoying! Many of us are vegetarians - why should we be so offended and upset during an entertaining cookery programme? Channel 4 please sort your attitude to animal welfare or loose more viewers.

  2. Hi, I would like to lodge a strong complaint against the preview to Gordon Ramsay's Cookalong, where it shows him and others plucking a live turkey. I find this incredibly offensive, as do many other viewers, watching the pleasure and apparent fun they are having at this shameful conduct, does he have no regard for the unnecessary suffering inflicted on these birds. This is not entertainment and I for one would take no pleasure in watching such a programme. We are all aware of how food goes on the table and I feel Mr. Ramsay in view of his recent conduct should be treading more carefully. His moral standing on many aspects of life are obviously in the gutter. Channel 4 - what are you thinking abou!. Keep cooking simple, we prefer it.

  10. Gordon, we luv you to bits but could you please run a competition to win a tv for the kitchen? Love the programme & always cookalong, have great fun, but got a complaint from my neighbour last time, the tele was too LOUD! If we dont have it loud we dont know whats going on! We have to have someone posted between the lounge and kitchen shouting instructions! Not an ideal situation, especially when youve had a couple or 3! weve had some very interesting combinations, and always a few ingredients left over! We then have to watch it back to see where we went wrong! Sound familiar to anyone? Sorry next door, we'll try and keep it down this week but it wont be the same. Gordon, my relationship with my neighbour hangs in the balance! Get it sorted Big Boy, Done!

  11. The food processor is for the cheesecake base. You can put the biscuits in a bag and crush with a rolling pin, or a bottle if you have no rolling pin.

  12. I presume the food processor will be used to cut up the solid ingredients for the diane sauce, it's a very fine based sauce and pureed if you can dice very finely then I think thats fine (but hey it's a 70's menu and how many hippies did you see with food processors??lol). Otherwise it's for the biscuit base for the cheesecake, but you can leave that in a couple of sandwiche bags and bash up with a rolling pin to a cheesecake like basis. I hope that helps you, good luck!!

  13. Hi! I cooked along in week 3 and loved it! So did my husband, brother, sister and brother-in-law here in Widnes. We're planning on cooking week 4 but I haven't got a food processor.... Can I do without one or do I need to go out shopping? What's it for? Thanks, Helen

  14. Me and my girlfriend Gail are going to cook along this week (Friday 21st Nov) with Gordon. We have never really cooked before apart from frozen foods and the most adventourus we have ever been is making our own pizza by adding our own toppings at our local pizza shop. Can you please give us a 'shout out' as i imangine we'll need all the help and support we can get. Say hello to our gorgeous little boy Lincoln who is 8 months old today. Thanks Darren and Gail

  15. When will the menu / ingredients for week 5 (i.e. 28th November) be available. I have my sister and brother- in-law coming for dinner and we'd love to cook along. We've had such a good time already just viewing that we thought we would love to join in.

  20. Well we bought the ingredients today and have only just realised that the shows not on... This has caused much distress, wasted money and us putting on excess pounds we would have otherwise not have gained... It was hard to see the funny side as we were gutted and couldn't even cook the ingredients due to our unusually high stress levels and feeling an all round sense of deflation... We realise this is not Gordans fault and would like to send him our best regards, however advise that channel4.com make the date more clear when putting out the week 4 menu - as week 4 suggests that it is the 4th week from the start of the series. Although aware there may have been a warning on last weeks hsow we were unable to watch this as our cooking team could not complete last weeks cookalong... This is not a stupid mistake on our part as Lisa below, and Im sure many others, have done exactly the same thing Sincerely Newly-converted Jamie Oliver fans (unless Gordan decides to do something about it) x x x

  28. I have booked friday night off from work to cook along with Gordon. I have checked to see everything that we need so i can get it all ready and i am very dissapionted to find that we cannot get the list of equipment needed for week 4. How is it possible to keep up with him whilst searching through our cupboards for the relevant tool? And what if we haven't got something that is vital to producing the nights meal? can this be sorted asap or will you leave us to record it and do it at a later date? which if you ask me defeats the object of cook along live.
