  2. Really enjoyed doing the cookalong as I love all your shows and can't wait to see you at the Good Food Show. However I did get everything prepared before the show and glad I did as never would have kept up. My only disappointment was the lasagne - sorry Gordon but even my guests said it wasnt a patch on my lasagne I make!! LOL. Can't wait to watch this week.

  3. Gordon - we had so much fun on Saturday cooking along with you. Two friends came round and we kept up (just) and had the funniest dinner party in years. So we are going again this Saturday with different friends. But please help us by telling on this site what we can prepare in advance. Last Saturday we had to grate and cook onions and carrots all in about 5 nano seconds! You had a head start there!

  9. Had great fun with the cook a long last night! But Gordon you are too fast! You have to prepare everything before the show otherwise you are lost. I didn't hear you say when to add the bay leave or the nutmeg!!and how on earth did you whisk that cream so quick? I think your quantities were different to that on the internet ingrediants. Great fun though!

  12. Hi Gordon, I really enjoy your cookalong shows. Last night I joined in with you & Johnny Vegas. He is so funny but he was so loud I missed some of your instructions & had to guess what to add next! At the end I still had the mustard & the nutmeg left unused! It tasted good anyway! I liked the pea & watercress soup best!My husband Andy enjoyed eating all of it when he came in from the pub!Regards Jayn X

  16. Love the concept on the new show! Although Patsy Kensit ruined the show for me, she NEVER shut up!!!!!! I didn't even find her funny. I would love to see Jimmy Carr on the show just to see if his hair would remain in the same place for the hour. Now he would be funny!

  18. I agree with other comments about starting earlier, I hate eating late. I'd like to try the lasagne this week - but what about a vegetarian option?

  21. any idea if there's a veggie cookalong on the cards? me and hubby did the cookalong last week, but had to make do with a bowl of pasta and dolmio instead of the salmon main, and this week im going to try and do the lasange but with lots of courgettes and aubergines instead of the mince i know gordon looks down on us veggies, but i think lots of people would appreciate it, even omnivores!

  24. We loved last wks cookalong,3 couples - the boys cooked while the girls advised and drank wine[well it needed 3 of us to keep our eyes on the TV] Couldn't get rhubarb so used apple ....delicious with ginger,it was a perfect substitute. We all felt too full after eating 3 courses, but we it was such good fun that we are doing it again. SO hectic with 6 in the kitchen - but too many cooks did not spoil the broth, the result was yummy!

  25. We had so much fun on the cook along as much fun as when we joined in in January! However, not impressed with the lack of published recipe prior to the cookalong. In January we got to see the method and prep as appropriate but this time it didn't happen!!! After a few glasses of Hardy's it was actually a little tricky to keep up without having done as much prep beforehand! Saying that, love you Gordon see you in week 3 xxx

  35. wow, we never joined in this week as my hubby does not eat salmon, but we are raring to go for the Lasagne, does every one have t.v's in the kitchen? we are going to have to do our chopping and prep on the livingroom table and then leg it in to the kitchen! Also I have been reading the comments what on earth is &apos??? its got me baffled. P.s Gordon you are my idol, I think you are the most watchable person on T.V you make me want to give up social work and become a chef. (helps thatyour gorgeous) done.

  37. Why is it on so late? Surely people don't want to be eating past 10 o'clock? Nice idea but I think an 8pm start would be more realistic. I'm going to get the ingredients, cook it myself and then see where I went wrong...

  42. Hi, firstly i must say how much i enjoyed last fridays show and my attempts to keep up, it did end up in a meal. My only point is, give us more detail before hand, Gordon said add this etc but as we did not have everything pre prepared had to stop to measure, cut roll etc this then had a knock on effect for having to rush things through. Just a small point think i'll record the rest and cook at leisure. But keep them going if nothing else i had a good laugh. Cheers Dino

  44. I thought the cook along live was excellent, only one problem with it PATSEY KENSIT, who is she, was she drunk or on drugs. Im sure Gordon has better friends than her. Please find someone that can do it better, it is Gordons show and not hers, she spoke over him all the time, could hardly hear what he was saying. Come on CH4 you are better than this. GREAT SHOW.

  45. Absolutely thrilled with last friday, had my brother shouting "Yes Chef" the goat's cheese starter was a triumph, there was too much salmon for 4, could easily have pushed another one or even 2 portions from it, and it was so tasty, loved the rhubarb crumble even though I had to make it from frozen rhubarb - were there any recommended wines? Not able to do this friday as we have a pre-planned a halloween party to attend but good luck to those of you who do do it, can't wait until week 3 -
