  7. I have the 'world's fussiest wife' and a one year old son so my cooking's taken a beating recently. I tried the crab with angel hair pasta (without chilli) and they both ate it! (OK, I added crème fraîche but the parsley went down well.) More of these 'simple' but tasty dishes please which even my family will eat!

  10. What a cracking series. Very entertaining and educational. Although i don't cook along live as its a bit late to be eating, i always watch the programme and follow the receipes the next day. If anyone can inspire the nation to cook its Gordon. These cookalongs are simple and easy to follow even for the novice. Keep it up and make another series. Thanks.

  11. I really enjoyed the third programme, the best yet ... very entertaining especially the lookalike! lol! I have not been able to afford the ingredients being on a very tight budget, BUT i am DYING to try one of the menus out later for a special meal! It was much much more enjoyable to watch now that the programme makers had obviously had a word with Gordon and co asking them to refrain from swearing all the time as they did on the first two programmes... Anyway ... brilliant ... i just love thses cookalongs!

  12. Has no-one else out there realised that GR had a secret serving of mushrooms, which we hadn't been told to buy?! Would've made a nice addition to the dish - although we were running out of pans, so maybe not such a bad thing!

  13. I think Gordon Ramsey is great!! He is serious and p-assionate cooking.I don't mind him swearing at all. BUT!! His guest last night was disgusting. Amanda Holden..should be ashamed of herself. Her crude comments and swearing were pathetic!! Even Gordon asked her to watch her swearing. I wish to make a complaint to Channel 4 about her behaviour.

I really enjoy the show, being shown how to make the food is great i just wish it was Gordon cooking on his own and without the celebrity guest, I have found it difficult to watch and it has sometimes made me want to turn the telly over but at the same time i want to watch what Gordon is doing, am i making sense?!

  18. Great show this week. Wow how much better it was without the bad language. I counted three or four f words. Makes much better listening. I hope someone is finally realising that bad language at whatever time of night is purely gratititous, and in fact turns people off in a big way. Ivor & Vicky Labrum

  19. Horribly depressed as I don't live in the U.K., and therefore, cannot watch Cookalong... what a shame! I wish Channel 4 would let people outside of the U.K. enjoy via Internet feed. Suppose I must wait for BBC America to run this program as I am completely enthralled with Gordon Ramsay, and would love to see this program, even as a re-run!

  23. Will people stop whining on about the time it's on! Just enjoy it and have fun, surly that's what the show is all about....how many "average" people can cook a 3 course meal in an hour? Yes it's hectic and yes it was fast pace but I reckon everyone who fell behind will be better prepared for tonights show! I can't wait....I even have friends over this week to sample the grub (and laugh at me being a headless chicken!) I hope everyone enjoys it!

  25. Gordon is a master of his trade but the poor direction for the camera work meant that when we should be watching his hands we were treated to the top of his head as he looked down at his handiwork. That meant we missed the main part of the show, how to do it. The constant zooming and cutting gave a jittery feel to the programme and the shouts in our house of disapproval were reminiscent of fans at a football match criticizing the ref and came from all watching the programme

  28. I took part in the cookalong in January and had a great time. I loved it so much I emailed C4 to asked if there were any plans to do it again so I was delighted when I heard about the series. I have three children one still in junior school, one in higher education and the other just finished an apprenticeship so its a rare occasion I can find something we will all enjoy doing together as a family every member of the family take part its great fun. Thanks Gordon and C4 roll on next week

  29. Was really looking forward to the show but even with 3 of us in the kitchen we really struggled to keep up with the pace and listen to the TV at the same time. Felt we needed a recipe as a back up or for the details at least to be repeated. Gordon needs to slow down. It was not enough just to have a list of ingredients - need to know exactly what is needed for which course. Obviously could not get rhubarb so used English pears instead. End result OK but felt stuffed eating so late - by the time we were finished and started eating the goats cheese salad it was cold and we had to put it back in the oven! Could have done without the Gordon dressing up in disguise - what was the point, why does he feel he has to put down other celebrity chefs.

  33. Had friends round and the evening was fantastic fun, however, thank goodness for sky as the pace was fast and the instructions not always clear, also no eggs were mentioned in the ingredients but were required and we were not told to boil the water for the brcoli or heat the pan for the caramel. Rhubarb was replaced by berries which was just as good, seasonal fruit & veg next time please.... Told everyone how good it was tho. Looking forward to this week.

  37. I thought the first episode of Gordon Ramsey: Cookalong Live was on 4OD, as I'd seen it advertised as such. I couldn't watch on Friday, nor Saturday, so I got my ingredients in for a nice Sunday cookalong. Imagine my surprise when I found that I had 1 kg of Salmon and no idea what to do with it! I must confess that I felt a little cheated. Ross.

  38. I followed the January special and enjoyed myself a lot so I had high hopes for the series. As it's live, maybe you can act on some of the suggestions on here? I was very frustrated by the speed of the show and would have been happy to trade more tuition/detail for the silly disguise segments. Why bother with the cookalongers, who barely got a look-in on the show, unless they had a horse in their kitchen? Working all week, the weekend is when I get to do my shopping, so why is the menu for week 2 (and subsequent weeks) not on here already?

  40. I really enjoyed the show, but I feel it could have been more about the cooking rather than Patsy Kensit going on and on and scretching! I normally love Gordon Ramsey, but the show just irritated me to the point of not looking at the cooking and just listening to all the squarking.

  41. I'm a big fan of Gordon Ramsey and was really looking forward to this new series, however, it was impossible to keep up with Gordon, even Patsy Kensit was constantly struggling and that was with a well prepared studio and Gordon standing next to her. I also found that the camera work flicked around all over the place and instead of portraying the show as fast paced, actually done your head in after a while. The concept of the show is brilliant but the overall end result was very poor. Unfortunately, i don't think i will bother watching any more episodes let alone try them out, my nerves or my brain can not stand any more.

We recommend prepping before the show starts, Tequila, before during and after the class from Gordon to liven up the night. We missed the first cook along but this one has inspired us to get drunk and cook with Gordon again.

  46. I was very much looking forward to this all week, the menu looked supberb. I've just watched the show and it was bitterly disappointing. Gordon was going at 100mph - poor patsy couldn't keep up - how on earth is anyone supposed to be able to follow it if he's going at breakneck speed - the camera shots were of Gordon and not on the food. yes we know you can cook Gordon the whole point of the show is that your supposed to teach the rest of us and that means doing it SLOWLY! - so that we can watch and learn. The format should put more emphasis on the cooking part and less about Gordon trying to be an entertainer! Patsy was the best part of the show period. If its going to carry on like this then I won't be watching.

The only problem was that we somehow got the date wrong so there we all were, in my kitchen, pots and pans ready - but no Gordon! Luckily the recipe etc was all online so we had a fantastic night, created a gorgeous meal (even though the crumble didn't quite go to plan) and have some great photos to prove it! 77. I was really looking forward to cooking along with Gordon but am unable to this week. I've been cooking a lot of Britain's Best Dish Recipes but unfortunately although I eat cheese I do not eat goats cheese and I eat absolutely no seafood of any description! I hope Gordon is going to make dishes suitable for non fish eating cooks?

  78. Looks like Gordon's showis much needed. From some of the comments there is a definite lack of skill in reading recipes even never mind actually cooking. Even I have managed to find my way about the website to find the recipes show ingredients for each course and all state how many servings they are expected to cover. Think if we all approached this on a read everything first before we even start to cook we should have a great result. Come on folk, Gordon is trying to educate us surely we should give a bit of effort too.
