Claire Baron finds herself cooking cactus for a prickly bunch on Come Dine With Me York
41 year old biker chick and council worker, Claire Baron, knows her weaknesses. "If there's one thing my guests may find irritating, it's my inability to shut up," she says "If there's a silence I'll fill it."
Claire has planned a Mexican menu complete with edible cactus. Since she's the first host, she's hoping to break the ice by providing sombreros and a selection of moustaches for her guests to wear. Not everyone is game, though. "It's going to bring my status right down. Can I forgo it?" asks Famida. "No," says Claire.
Famida's straight talking continues over dinner.
"It's your job to talk rubbish and you get paid to talk rubbish?" she asks playwright, Chris.
"She's like a Trinidadian Anne Robinson in her questioning style," laughs the abused author.
With her guests failing to bond, Claire's turning to her secret supply of booze while she cooks.
"If I didn't have some wine I don't think I could stand a whole night with those guys," she confesses, over a secret quaff.
But maybe the wine wasn't the best idea, as the half-cut host goes head over heels carrying an armload of plates.
"She's dropped the food but honestly that was the best place for it - the floor," says Andy.
When Claire finally returns with pudding, she also brings Fluffy - her pet snake who makes himself comfortable on the table. Very comfortable. In fact, he does a poo. "I can't have the sweet now," says Famida, "I'm going to be sick."

Starter was a fresh and fishy shrimp ceviche

Followed by the exotic pork chilli verde. Unfortunately for copyright reasons we can not bring you Andy's recipe, but try Jamie Oliver's green chilli recipe instead.

After Fluffy's faux pas, no-one tried the Mexican flan
