We welcome four amateur cooks from York as they each host their ideal night of entertainment, hoping to grab a glorious grand in cash and be hailed a deserving Come Dine With Me champ.
Up first is council worker, Claire Baron, who hopes an exotic Mexican themed dinner party will get her guests on side. With sombreros and false moustaches featuring heavily in the evening’s entertainment, the diners are in for even more of a shock when Claire presents her beloved pet snake at the dinner table…
Day two sees award-winning playwright, Chris Bush, do his best to impress with culture and cuisine. However it seems to be to no avail, as the guests can’t help but curtly comment on his lack of his skill in the kitchen and on the stage.
Scantily-clad Famida Wilson hopes her evening of Caribbean fare will put her in the lead on day three, as she dons another shocking number that has all the guests gossiping. Talk turns personal when the topic of appropriate attire for older women is raised, and as the prickly evening draws to a close it becomes apparent that lifelong enemies have been made.
The final dinner party sees property developer, Andy Swales, turn his hand to developing the evening’s menu. It isn’t long before his contentious views land him in trouble with the ladies, not to mention his controversial choice of main course - squirrel and ale pie. As the guests thank their lucky stars that they’ll never have to see each other again, which one will triumph with their exceptional cooking capabilities?
