Wayne Allen has rubbed shoulders with so many famous folk, he could be on Celebrity Come Dine With Me. But he's not. He's on Come Dine With Me Teesside

Wayne Allen is a self confessed entertainer. "Am I a show off? Yes. And is it a bad thing? No." He'll be running his dinner party like he runs his local radio show, keeping to his mantra: 'tight and bright'.

While Wayne puts the final touches to his starter, his guests bond by having a good old nose around the house. It's not long before they discover evidence of his celebrity lifestyle. Imagine their surprise as they see their host sharing a photo op with the likes of Ronan Keating, the Sugababes and, er, Darius.

The celeb talk continues over dinner; Jon relates how he saw Cat Deeley in the South of France and Jayne reveals she's related to both writer, Carla Lane, and founder of the Natural History Museum, Sir Richard Owen; "Terrifically important in terms of history," she informs her fellow diners.

The conversation flows and so does the booze. Host, Wayne, gets the giggles so much, he can barely fill his buns. His profiterole buns.

Starter

Chicken miestra

Wayne kicked his menu off with Nonna's chicken minestra soup and home made bread.

Main course

Poached fillet steak

The meat of Wayne's dinner came in the form of poached Aberdeen Angus fillet steak in a white wine and garlic sauce christened with sweet red onions, served on a bed of patate crema insalata.

Dessert

Chocolate profiteroles

Wayne finished with his home made chocolate profiteroles.

  1. Good Lord Wayne, the moment you realised it wasn't all about you and nobody was "wowed" by your faux celebrity status you immediately tried to side with the "masses" you so clearly feel you have risen above. Just being honest mate. And you clearly benefited from "first night syndrome" where everyone was trying to be polite. A courtesy that you saw fit not to bestow on anyone else. Nice one champ.

  2. Just watched the show and I thought that the way Wayne and others treated Jayne was unfair. Jayne's passion for food was clearly on another level and so Wayne and the others felt compelled to label Jayne as pretentious when all she was doing was trying to enjoy their company and tell them about her passion. They should have embraced it and enjoyed it rather than attacking Jayne and treating her so terribly in her own home

  3. I almost feel sorry for Wayne his having taken so much stick. Although he did deserve it and I think that if you behave that way on national TV then you should expect what you get within reason. Yes Wayne you really were not very nice. Your meal looked quite posh yet nobody had a pop at you for being up yourself. It was pure inverted snobbery, the worse kind of human group behaviour which may appeal to those who are inadequate in some way, but no reasonable person would side with your way of thinking. I hope for your sake that this doesn't haunt you for too long. I am sure that you're alright really, just misguided and perhaps a little chip on your shoulder? Time to shed the new famous reputation - go out there and shine. If that person is really you - then for god sake act like someone else. We should all remember though that it's only a bit of fun adn not to be too hard on poor old Wayne.

  4. I sincerely hope Wayne learnt something from his behaviour. He was rude and had no respect for any one else, it doesn't take alot but good manners to at least be civil and conduct your self properly. He also might like to know that the starter he made wasn't actually Minestra it was Minestrone! There is a very clear and obvious difference one is a chicken & veg broth like soup and the other (MINESTRA!) is made from spinach/cabbage and potatoes. If your going to act like a prat at least know what you are talking about!

  5. Wayne, you should feel ashamed of yourself when you watch back this programme and see your behaviour, but unfortunately I'm sure you don't. To verbally attack someone in the way you did in their own home after being served what looked like a lovely meal was not you being honest but you behaving like a rude, jealous, nasty individual. Shame on you.

  10. Who would have thought a food programme would ever reveal the real person within in the way this show does - oh dear Wayne, now we all know what you are.
