Single mum, Michelle Small, knows how to have maximum fun for minimum funds on Come Dine With Me Teesside
Michelle can't stand people who stereotype single mums on benefits, so she's on a mission to show you don't need to blow the bank to have a good time.
"I'd like to prove you can survive and have good meals on a budget," she says.
Among Michelle's top tips for dining on a dime is growing your own food, so she's off to her dad's allotments for a crop of the season's finest. Even the meat is a bargain, coming in at just £1.75.
"A cheap cut of meat can go a long way," says the savvy saver.
After revealing her fancy food preferences last night, Jane's got some money saving tips of her own.
"This is prosecco," she says, offering some fizz to her host, "it's like Champagne, but a fraction of the cost and just as good. So when money is tight, in the second week of the month, this is what I drink."
Over dinner, the guests wax philosophical about the value of money.
"I genuinely believe money and material possessions don't make you happy," says Michelle.
"The happiest I've been in my life was when I married my wife Irene," shares Wayne.
"Everyone was looking at us. It was like we were Posh and Becks."
Dinner and a debate - and all for just £10.

Prawns? On a budget? Michelle says 'Yes!' with her crispy jumbo prawns with chilli ginger dip starter. Unfortunately we can't bring you her recipe due to copyright reasons, but try these garlic and chilli prawns from top chef Tommi Miers.

It's all about the cheap cuts as Michelle serves baked pork, prune and apple meatballs with mash and winter vegetables. Unfortunately we can't bring you her recipe due to copyright reasons, but try these pork chops with prunes instead.

Michelle rounded off her meal with Chocolate and orange delight.
