Self confessed drama queen, Gavin, might have met his match with his Come Dine With Me Torbay rivals

Gavin describes himself as a larger than life, loud friendly person but his appetites might not be quite the luxurious fare you'd expect at a dinner party.
"Favourite foods? Burgers, chips, pizza without cheese, chips - did I say chips?"

Knowing his guests will expect something more fancy than fries, Gavin is cooking outside his comfort zone and making all his recipes from scratch. He'll even be preparing his own onions - but he's bought some frozen chopped ones just in case.

The pressure of cooking brand new recipes is getting to Gavin - his Parma ham has torn, his tarts are too big for his plates and his restaurant-style menu, complete with 'balzanic' dressing, is getting a few drops of a secret ingredient - sweat.

Despite the stress in the kitchen, Gavin is a superb host. He's even got non alcoholic wine which is a boon for teetotal guest, Alison. The others are soon downing the strong stuff though and it's not long before polite conversation descends into potty-talk - and posho Patrick is the worst innuendo offender. In fact, he's really rubbed Carol up the wrong way: "Patrick is a rude, obnoxious old man!" she rants. It could be a fiery week.

Starter

Goat's cheese tarts

Gavin served fig, goat's cheese and caramelised onion tartlets on a teeny plate.

Main Course

Stuffed pork

Next to wow his guests, stuffed pork and mustard mash with a cider jus just rescued from the cat.

Dessert

Chocolate fondant

Despite having the wrong type of flour, Gavin attempted chocolate fondant with strawberries and cream.

  1. What a Sweetheart! Would come to one of his Dinner parties any day of the week. How awful it was when he couldn't catch his breath and no one got up to help him after a long while.
