Softly spoken housewife, Alison, hopes her spotlessly clean house will get the better of her guests' dirty minds on Come Dine With Me Torbay
Alison is fiercely house proud. She spends three hours a day cleaning her home, gets through six bottles of bleach a week and even bleaches the patio twice a day.
"I like things to be spotlessly clean and look immaculate. It shows you've got pride in yourself. It's very, very important."
Used to feeding four strapping men, Alison's not worried about her guests going hungry, unless they don't like lasagne.
"I won't be eating the lasagne," says Gavin, "I cannot eat cheese." Although he doesn't seem to have any trouble with the tiramisu - isn't mascarpone a cheese, Gavin?
"Logically, when I eat tiramisu, I'm not thinking about cheese - I'm thinking about the alcohol and the taste as a whole."
Alison was not impressed by the coarse conversation last night and she's determined to maintain the decorum on her night - despite Patrick's constant barrage of innuendo. It's not easy.
"When I knead bread it never becomes erect," muses Patrick over Alison's loaf, "how long do you have to play with it for?"
It's not only the food that Patrick has got opinions on. "I imagine Alison's décor will be beige and white - to match her complexion," he shares.
"If Gavin doesn't like cheese he doesn't like cheese, and he could stand to lose a little weight." And there's more. "Carol accuses one of looking at her bosom when, of course, it's there to be looked at." Oh dear.

Alison served roasted red pepper soup with a perfectly firm loaf of homemade bread.

Her main course was a family favourite - lasagne and a selection of salads.

A more acceptable cheese dish, thanks to the addition of alcohol, Alison's tiramisu pleased everyone's palate. Unfortunately, we can't bring you Alison's recipe for copyright reasons but for a similar dish try this coffee and rum tiramisu instead.
