42 year old Christian charity project worker, David Martin, is the third host to take the baton in Come Dine With Me Plymouth

Devoted to family and work, David doesn't have much time for socialising but he's hoping years of restaurant management experience will come into their own on the night.

After last night's attack from Sharron, which left him weeping in the taxi, David's opening his doors with a big heart. And it looks like he's about to turn his nemesis into an ally. After two nights of bullying David, Sharron has changed her tune on her rival's prowess. "I always thought his menu could be the one," she fawns.

And it might well be: there are groans of delight over David's sauce at the starter and the main is so good, even Nat can't fault it. The domestic goddesses have underestimated their humble host and it could cost them.

As the food disappears, David's confidence gets a boost. He even tries his hand at a bit of banter, handing his griping guests wooden spoons because they're so good at stirring. Oh David you scamp. If only he hadn't used shop bought pastry cases.

Starter

mushrooms in garlic white wine sauce

David got the ladies wanting more with his mushrooms in garlic white wine sauce on ciabatta recipe.

Main Course

spiced lamb shank

Cooked to perfection, David's spiced lamb shank with creamed potatoes was a hit with his grousing guests.
Unfortunately we can't bring you David's recipe but try this lamb shank recipe from Marcus Wareing.

And to round it off, a classically indulgent chocolate tart with clotted cream.
Unfortunately we can't bring you David's dessert recipe but try this chocolate and whiskey tart recipe.

  1. Love the show but really don't see the point of watching when the menus are not available afterwards, surely this should be part of the agreement with channel 4 when guests agree to take part.

  3. I really like David, he seemed a very nice guy- really genuine. He should've won, I cant see how there can be three marks in it for a jacket and some wine... A tough choice between who I like more- David or Ernie from Swansea. I think I'll go for David, what with him not a having mean bone in his body. Sharron held a grudge against him for trying to talk, then she complains that he doesn't talk. She tried to impose herself on everyone, possibly due to low self-esteem. David would at my house for a dinner party any time.

  4. It is such a shame we are not able to get the chocolate tart recipe or to watch it again on deman. Why does channel 4 advertise this 'service' when it is not available.
