Bird of a feather, Lesley Joseph, is hoping a laid back approach will send her soaring to the top in celebrity Come Dine With Me. "It doesn't matter if it's not the most inventive or amazing recipe it's whether it's edible, really," she explains. It's good to aim high
First up she attempts a chocolate mousse but it's not long before things are going wrong. "This looks horrible," she cries. Well, you said it. When all else fails chuck in some brandy. "That looks absolutely vile," she giggles, popping it in the fridge.
Lesley's roped in presenter pal, Sarah Greene, to help with the main, a last minute choice of lamb shoulder. The two telly veterans get busy strong arming the lamb into an undersized pan while the family cat gets cosy in the potatoes. It's going to be a long night.
While dinner is cooking, Lesley's guests take a sneak peek around her pad and find a host of snaps of Lesley with celebs. Well to be honest, it's more Lesley hovering behind celebrities - but they're impressive nonetheless. "Oh look, Trevor Nelson," says Abi. No Abi, that's Sir Trevor McDonald.
The starters have been scoffed and her guests are waiting but Lesley's lamb is nowhere near done. Time for celebrity rescue as Linda and Rodney arrive to save the day. Leaving her guests grilling her main course, Lesley's off for a drink. Now that's the way to run a dinner party.

Lesley kicks off proceedings with a starter of Roquefort cheese and walnut salad… only she uses Pecorino, not Roquefort.

For her main dish Lesley planned to cook slow-cooked lamb shoulder with baked potatoes and green beans. But a last minute change to lamb leg messed with her timings so she finished her dish off on the grill. For a more foolproof way to cook lamb try Gordon's roast leg of lamb recipe.

Lesley finished off her meal with a duo of desserts; chocolate mousse and pineapple surprise – or fruit salad, truth be told. We can't bring you Lesley's pudding concoction for copyright reasons, but if you fancy something similar try Gordon's chocolate mousse with a side order of melon salad.
