The first would-be chef to test their metal in the Come Dine With Me celebrity special is model and broadcaster, Nancy Sorrell, wife of comedian, Vic Reeves

Bubbly, blonde Nancy is up for a laugh and is more concerned with having a giggle than getting her food looking nice. "I don't know how to make it look pretty," she says slapping some lettuce on the side of the glass.

Nancy's opted for a traditionally English menu and heads to her local butchers to make her own sausages. "I love it," she screeches, pulling the sausages out with her hands. "I love handling meat." "Nancy's bangers," announces the flushed-looking butcher.

To ensure her evening runs smoothly, Nancy has roped in funny hubby, Vic, to wait on her guests. He's taking the role very seriously but there's nothing serious about his dodgy wig. His appearance has the guests in stitches – all except Caprice who find his whole performance a little bit weird.

Time for the bangers and Nancy decides to give her main course a cheeky twist. Secured amid a pile of mash, Nancy's bangers stand erect with a little flag popped in the top. "I think mine's dressing to the right," says a concerned Nicky, underwhelmed by his flaccid specimen.

It's jokes all round at Nancy's dinner but will her left-of-centre hosting leave her guests cold?
