Stephen Mahon plans to flatter his guests all week 'til they're putty in his hands then stab them in the back with some low scores of his own. "I'm going to schmooze them throughout the week but be a complete bitch with the feedback," he chuckles. How delightful

While the two-faced chef puts the final touches to the food Stephen's guests take a stroll around his impressive pad, but are they alone? Stephen claims to have a ghost called Lily who bides her time on the fifth floor pulling out the vacuum cleaner plug and other terrifying antics.

Well at least Steve seems impressed by the haunted manor: "It's exceptional and overwhelming," he gasps, "and emotive and powerful and sensual." Steady on Steve, it's only a terrace.

It's mushrooms again for starters so how will Stephen's servings measure up to Michelle's? Everyone enjoys them… except for Michelle, who's looking somewhat green about the gills. "I just feel a bit sick," she tells her host politely. Could this be sour grapes setting in?

In one final attempt to win some points Stephen gives an ode to his guests through the medium of cheese. "This is representative of what you've meant to me… in cheese," he gushes as he wheels in the cheeseboard. "Mild mannered and soft and gentle," he muses, fingering the Wensleydale. "Just like Michelle." Well if she wasn't feeling sick enough before…

Starter

Stuffed mushroom

For the second mushroom starter of the week Stephen served Portobello mushrooms with Gruyere and red Leicester.

Main Course

Salmon

For the main dish Stephen served baked salmon with a cheesy crust with hollandaise sauce.

Dessert

Lemon souffle

For pudding Stephen rustled up some chilled lemon soufflés. Unfortunately we can't bring you Stephen's recipe but for a similar dish try this lemon curd mousse recipe instead. He finished the evening off with a selection of cheeses dedicated to his guests.
