Nightclub owner, Rick, hopes drag act, Cherry Bakewell, will spice up his night in Come Dine With Me Aberdeen. A nice accompaniment to dinner or a tart too far?

Rick Brecken Ridge runs Aberdeen's premier gay night but claims to be a little shy. "First impressions of me may be slightly stand-offish," he admits. "But I'll be fine after a glass of wine."

To compensate for Rick's retiring nature he's hired in some help. A drag queen called Miss Cherry Bakewell puts on an intimate show for the guests involving a feather duster. Stand-offish is one thing Rick, sexual assault another.

Cherry takes a definite shine to conservative Bob, giving him his own personal lap dance. "Help," he cries a little unconvincingly, "is my face red?" As a beetroot, Bob.

Entertainment over it's time for the food but Bob's finding it hard to concentrate. "She was worth eating," he giggles. Oh Bob, eat your soup.

The starter gets a mixed response and the main course of sea bass and noodles is too out there for traditionalist Bob. Not so for Filipino, Laura, who is determined to make the most of her fish. "Did you just eat the eye?" gags an outraged Bob. "The fish head is where the fat is," explains Laura. Mmm, sounds delicious.

After a quick rummage round Rick's dressing up box his guests find some cowboy outfits and settle down to dessert donning Stetsons. "If my friend was here, I'd gladly feed her," says the lovelorn cowboy. Seriously Bob, let her go.

Starter

Tomato soup

After a quick glass of bubbly Rick served his guests a starter of cold summer tomato soup with pesto dressing. Unfortunately we can't bring you Rick's recipe for copyright reasons, but why not try this gazpacho recipe from Tommi Miers instead?

Main Course

Sea bass and noodles

For the main course Rick served Scottish sea bass on a bed of noodles.

Dessert

Raspberry cheesecake

To round off his night Rick served crushed raspberry cheesecake. Unfortunately we can't bring you Rick's recipe for copyright reasons, but why not try these raspberry cheesecake cups instead?

  2. The two recipes I really wanted to try have been replaced due to copyright. I distinctly remember Rick saying his pudding was his Mother's creation, so why the copyright problem? The other his tomato soup, it looked delicious. I think I may stop watching this programme because I have been disappointed so often with this copyright thingy. what a let down!

  3. Would like to echo everyone's disappointment on your failure to print Rick's recipe and for the lame excuse printed alongside it.

  4. Can't see the point asking viewers to log on for recipes, only to be told 'not available but why not try this'!!!! May as well look in any recipe book! Unimpressed.

  6. This is unbelieveable and the first ever time i have heard of 'copyright reasons'. What a load of rubbish, why have them on the show only to say you cant tell us whats in a recipe. Put the book name on here channel 4 and at least people can go buy it, your reasons are very lame!! Why keep harping on about the website when you dont put all the recipes on it. Alternatively everyone wanting the cheesecake recipe (or any other), go to channel 4 catch up and watch that bit of the show again and listen to what he puts in it.

  7. We are planning a dinner party and we looked at the Channel 4 website to find Rick's crushed raspberry cheesecake recipe. We are most disappointed to find that it has been redacted. This is extremely lame. At least let us know which book it is found in? We'd definitely buy a copy.

  8. After reading through all the comments people have written-one gets the impression all of us would die to have Rick's cheese cake recipe. Why ? go on national television if you don't want people knowing what you're cooking! Very disappointed-and NO,you giving us some alternate cheese cake recipes doesn't cut it.

  10. I watched Come Dine with Me - Rick's menu - and am very disappointed to find that the recipe for his first course and his dessert are not printed 'for copyright reasons'.... Why did your announcer direct us to this website if we can only find similar recipes..the raspberry cheesecake cups are not at all like the crushed raspberry cheesecake.... I was really looking forward to making the dessert which rick made. A response to this would be appreciated as I see that I am not the only one to feel this way. I agree with the fact that at least you could give the name of the publication in which Rick found this recipe but he did say that it was handed down from his mother... surely any slight variation would get round the copyright laws?

  11. This is the first time I've ever logged on to the website and I really wanted Rick's soup recipe and also the cheesecake one. Can't believe that neither of them are available. Really disappointed. Never mind, I've still got the wonderful Dave's comments to listen to,he makes the programme for me!

  14. Many, many times I've been on the web site to get a recipe only to find that I can't have it for copyright reasons. Presumably this means that they are in a cook book on sale commercially. Would it not be possible please to state this and tell us which cook book, by whom and the publisher - we could then go out and buy it which would enhance sales. A typical instance is Rick's crushed raspberry cheese cake on the programme of the 14th July
