British Camembert is a creamily pungent, strong-flavoured cheese. When fresh, it is quite crumbly and relatively hard, but characteristically ripens and becomes more runny and strongly flavoured as it ages.
Serve with: melons, grapes, sweet berries and sun-dried tomatoes - all good flavour partners to the pungent Camembert. Its soft, creamy, interior and thin, edible crust make it ideal for spreading onto croissants and crackers.
What to drink it with: goes well with Champagne, red wines and apple cider.
