Roy's got something special up his sleeve for his night on Come Dine With Me Sunderland. Let's ho, ho, hope he's onto a winner
Laugh-a-minute funster, Roy, might be a karate fanatic but tonight he won't be serving chops. No, he's planning something altogether more festive. Who cares that it's the middle of summer? Christmas is coming early - or maybe late - either way, it's coming and coming with a vengeance.
It's the most wonderful time of the year for Roy. He has such a fun time decorating the tree he forgets one crucial element of Christmas dinner: the dinner. Back on track he's soon having a smashing time - accidentally smashing his trifle bowls. Help is on hand thanks to his neighbour, Mary.
Roy's crackers about Christmas. "I do have an emotional tie to it," he admits, so his guests had better tread lightly. Still it should be fine, everyone loves Christmas don't they? Everyone except ray-of-light Ashley, obviously. "This is one of the few Christmases I have enjoyed," she says to Roy's face, but behind closed doors she releases her inner Grinch. "Honest to God, I've lost the will to eat."
The guests have been told to dress to impress and for Anthony that means full surf gear complete with body-board and Baywatch-style Speedos. But he's got nothing on host Roy, who's rocking a sweltering Santa suit. Anyone fancy sitting on his knee?

Yule love Roy's creatively titled starter of scallops on a bed of rocket leaves, courting king prawns chaperoned with a sweet chilli sauce. There were garlic mushrooms for Bernice.

What else but turkey with all the trimmings? Non meat-eater Bernice had a fiery orange crumbed salmon also with trimmings.
Unfortunately, for copyright reasons we can't bring you Roy's turkey but you create your own Christmas cracker with our roast turkey with two stuffings recipe.

Rounding off a classic Christmas, Roy served sherry trifle. Yum.
Unfortunately, for copyright reasons we can't bring you Roy's trifle but you can get your sweet treats with our raspberry, sherry and nut trifle.
