Ambitious Adish attempts to dazzle her guests with a hefty menu of 12 different Indian dishes
Adish's demanding dinner restrictions have made her one of the week's fussiest eaters. Now she's playing host, and she's keen to prove that you don't need meat or booze to have a lovely meal.
After complaining that her rival hosts cooked bland food, Adish is pulling out all the stops with a staggering menu of 12 different dishes, including a nine dish main course.
"I've cooked enough for 15 people," laughs Adish.
It looks like her family's having leftovers for breakfast.
She's going to have a hard task convincing her carnivorous guests that a veggie menu makes for a decent dinner party, especially fusspot Tom who says he'd rather lose an arm than give up meat.
When her rivals arrive, non-drinker Adish tries to tempt her guests with a variety of exotic juices. But nosy parker Greg soon discovers a secret stash of wine.
"I think we have to pretend we didn't see that," says Juliet.
Greg won't be silenced by ceremony, though and drops hints at his host. But Adish can't or won't take the bait and the wine languishes temptingly in the corner.
The diners are impressed by Adish's multiple dishes and even Tom embraces the 'wet food' experience, eating with his hands in a traditional Indian style. Will wonders never cease?

Adish eases her guests into her mammoth menu with a moderate starter of vadai and dhokla served with a selection of homemade chutneys.

For her main course, Adish served up a thali of traditional Indian dishes including aubergine & coconut curry, soya mince curry, dhall, tofu sambal, boondi raita, together with chapattis, lemon rice & fried plantains.

For dessert Adish whipped up payasam, an Indian version of the classic rice pudding.
