Young and trendy grandma, Lisa Quinton, from Come Dine With Me Ipswich has exacting standards and not just about the food. "In the past I've had to make my brother in law sit on a bin liner because he wasn't clean enough to sit on my chair," she admits. Let's hope her guests have had their loofahs out
As well as serving a top notch dinner, Lisa has an extra challenge of the diplomatic kind. Last night relations completely broke down between Zoe and Angie and Lisa is determined to get the relationship back on track. But Barry doesn't fancy her chances. "Worst case scenario is them brawling like dogs," he offers, looking hopeful.
To make sure the food is at its finest Zoe gets a quick cookery lesson from chef, Ali, at the restaurant where she works. Ali creates a delicious chicken dish and gives her some pointers to take away: don't use shallots - she uses shallots; use one kind of mushroom – she uses an assortment; butterfly the chicken - she doesn't bother. "What he can't see he isn't going to worry about is he?" she quips. No but your guests might.
Zoe and Angie are the first to arrive and it seems Lisa has her work cut out as Zoe blanks Angie out right. "I find her a little bit cold," admits Angie, as perceptive as ever. And the tension is not eased when Gerard and Barry abandon the table while Lisa's in the kitchen, leaving the two ladies. Zoe legs it to the toilet and Angie is left sitting alone. "I've told her to count the gold stars on the table," explains Lisa, "so at least she's got a task." Unfortunately she's not aged five.
Lisa's cooking gets the thumbs up and after a bucket load of booze the group are up boogieing into the night. All except Angie who's left looking forlorn on the sofa, alone. It looks like Lisa's no Kofi Annan.

Lisa got the party started with a bowl of punch then served a starter of king scallops on a bed of pancetta and chorizo salad.

For the main course Lisa served chicken mafiosa with roast potatoes, baby carrots and sugar snap peas. Unfortunately we can't bring you Lisa's recipe for copyright reasons but for a similar dish try this chicken escalopes recipe instead.

Finally for pudding Lisa served apple crumble with homemade cinnamon ice cream. Unfortunately we can't bring you Lisa's dessert for copyright reasons but for a similar dish try Hugh's blackberry, apple and hazlenut crumble instead.
