Buff butcher, Gerard from Come Dine With Me Ipswich has the women eating out of his hand. But with a starter of black pudding and chicken livers he's going to need all the charm he can muster. "It's a brave choice," he admits. "I don't think anyone would want that, except maybe Baz."
And it's not just ingredient gripes he's got to contend with but the ongoing feud between Zoe and Angie. "I've got a big pond, I'll push 'em in there that should cool them off," he decides. Sorted.
All Gerard's meat, and there's a lot of it, comes from the butcher where he works which is sure to put him in his boss's good books. But Barry's got the meat fear from all this rich food. "I feel like I've been on the Atkins," he sighs.
Never one for an easy life Gerard's decided to serve dishes that need cooking at the last minute. He enjoys an easy life with time ticking along nicely when suddenly he realises - "I've got to do my pudding." He sets a timer for his shop bought pastry but the buzzer doesn't go off and he brings them out burnt. "Spot on," he declares, oblivious.
His laid back approach seems to have done the trick as his guests devour the grub. Angie licks the plate clean and even the feud seems to have fizzled out somewhat. It's all going swimmingly until Zoe decides it's time to provoke a quick confession. It seems last night left the boys so relaxed that they felt comfortable taking a wee on Lisa's lawn. "I can vaguely remember," mutters a confused Gerard.
Has the posh totty seen his chances of victory go down the toilet?

Gerard serves an ambitious starter of sautéed chicken liver, black pudding and streaky bacon on toast.

Continuing the meat feast Gerard serves a main course of roast pork chops in cider with mashed potatoes and spring greens. Unfortunately we can't bring you Gerard's recipe for copyright reasons but for a similar dish try this pork chops with mustard and apple recipe instead.

To finish Gerard treats his guests to a sweet of strawberries and cream filo tart with a raspberry coulis.
