Mad cap Angie from Come Dine With Me Ipswich is a theatre fan and loves to break out into song. Unfortunately not all her guests share her joie de vivre and her tendency to speak before thinking is beginning to grate on Zoe. "If anything's going to come out it'll come out. I just hope they're not offended," says Angie. They are
As a special treat for her guests the school matron has roped in her local theatre company to hide upstairs and surprise the guests with a mid dinner performance. They're sure to be thrilled.
Maintaining the theatre vibe Angie has named all her courses after musicals for no obvious reason - unless we missed the bit of 'The King and I' that featured choux pastry. And she's going all out with the presentation as well as she crafts her dessert into the shape of swans. "Wouldn't it be funny if I sang some scales as I used the weighing scales?" she trills. "La la la la lah." Funny's one word Angie, annoying is another.
Time for the guests' arrival and Angie's not the only one to spring a surprise. Lisa used to live in Angie's house. "My son was born in this house," gasps Lisa. "I had my baby on your bed." Let's hope she's changed the sheets.
Dinner is served and the conversation soon turns to song as they all think of ditties that would sum up their lives. "Mine would be the Little Mermaid one," muses Zoe. "Yeah you'd make a good Ursula," agrees Angie. That's a fat evil witch in the body of an octopus, in case you'd forgotten.
Isn't it about time for some tableside cabaret? Bring on the singing troops. Angie's even run up some costumes for her guests to wear so they can all join in. Oh happy days indeed.

Angie serves punch on arrival followed by bacon and corn chowder or 'Oliver', to give it its musical title. Unfortunately we can't bring you Angie's recipe for copyright reasons but for a similar dish try this bacon and sweetcorn soup recipe instead.

The main course was 'Carousel' – that's stuffed tenderloin of pork with duchess potatoes and seasonal vegetables, obviously. Unfortunately we can't bring you Angie's recipe for copyright reasons but for a similar dish try this stuffed pork tenderloin recipe instead.

Finally Angie served a 'The King and I' inspired pudding of Baileys choux with rich chocolate sauce.
