Essex-born Jewish girl, Wendy Ockrim, likes to cook and loves to win. But with a jam-packed menu has the showy student bitten off more than she can chew?
Glasgow may be home to 2.3million Scots, but our first chef stepping into the kitchen is a design student who likes to cook and loves to win.
"I know deep down I am the best," she confesses, adding, "I'm not here to make friends." That's the spirit Wendy. The hostile host has been forced to prepare two main courses as one of the guests is a pescatarian – eating only the flesh of fish. Eager to demonstrate her repertoire of repasts the showy student has also opted to serve a trio of desserts.
Wendy's lamb has been prepared the kosher way, in keeping with her Jewish roots and with all else prepared she heads upstairs to pretty herself up before the battle begins. Perhaps she should take her feather duster with her as hotel manager Benito has exacting standards when it comes to bedroom cleanliness.
Two courses in and would-be joker Jane's cracking the jokes and waxing lyrical about everything and anything. She may be breaking the ice but will her forthright nature cause a little female friction?

Wendy kicked her evening off with some canapés and a glass of Kir Royale before moving onto to a scrummy starter of butternut squash soup with pear and rosemary.

For the main event Wendy offered a choice of braised lamb with red rooster garlic mash, prepared the kosher way, or sea bass with celeriac mash for those of a marine persuasion. Both dishes were served with pepperonata and winter green cabbage.

Finally, to really show off some skill Wendy served up a trio of desserts consisting of bitter chocolate mousse, lemon tart and minty pineapple.
