
Mortgage manager Mabel Wong, hopes to woo her guests with some authentic Chinese cuisine. But will her multi-layered menu over face the feisty diners?
Not a believer in the 'less is more' school of thought she's cooking her guests a mammoth 10 dish menu. Let's hope they're hungry.
After feeding her rivals her massive menu, Mabel's got a failsafe plan to keep the food in place. "I use a lot of ginger," she explains. "It's one of my game plans. It's an anti-emetic, so they can't throw up." There's nothing like confidence in your cooking Mabel.
But perhaps she has reason to worry as one of her principal ingredients is fungus. Not a regular feature on the dinner party circuit. With such a laden table to prepare Mabel ropes in boyfriend Cameron to help with the prep. Not sure how that will go down with the other competitive cooks.
In keeping with her 'take me as you see me' attitude Mabel refuses to dress for dinner, but makes up for it by reading her rivals' fortunes – using cookies. After a lesson in using chopsticks from Essex-born Wendy, the guests tuck in. Will the guests be bowled over by the brimming Chinese banquet?

Mabel kicked off her mammoth menu with a selection of chilli beef in lettuce, vegetable spring rolls, sweet and sour skewers and steamed meatballs served with sweet chilli dip and chilli vinegar.

More multiple courses for the main event including chilli beef and broccoli, stir fried bean curd with oyster mushrooms, steamed sea bass, monkfish and tofu stew and garlic and oyster sauce pak choi.

Finally, Mabel's well-fed guests were treated to the traditional Chinese dish, Gwar lo, made from sugar, melon and coconut milk.
