Cool and calm, Vera takes a scientific approach to her meal by comparing the preparation to a science experiment. Let’s hope her chemistry is better than her cooking though as a strong smell of burning soon escapes from the kitchen.

While Vera finishes dinner, the guests have a good rummage around the house but are left disappointed at the lack of controversy in Vera’s drawers. A mysterious toolbox yields nothing more exciting than a bunch of spanners.

Dinner goes off without too many hitches but the diners aren't overwhelmed by the chemist’s cuisine. It’s no skin of Vera’s nose, though. She’s content knowing the difference between sugar and salt.

Unfortunately Vera’s laid back attitude isn’t rubbing off on her guests as feisty Marie’s pert opinions start to rub Jon up the wrong way.
