
IT service engineer Jon is considered to be the dark horse of the group. Decked out in full chef’s garb he certainly looks the part but can he live up to his own exacting standards?
To get the party started Jon invites everyone outside to his very own ‘Club Tropicana’, complete with garden bar and cocktail fountain. The guests don’t need much encouragement before they’re eagerly imbibing.
It seems the booze has worked its magic on Marie who is full of compliments for Jon’s cuisine. Is this shrewd tactics or just good manners? The other guests are sceptical. But Marie is unabashed. She’s even impressed by Jon’s rebranded tap water.
The liberal liquor has loosened Vera’s lips and the boys are left blushing at the pensioner’s raft of innuendos. “I’ve got to get a taxi back with Vera,” says James, “and I’m scared.” But as the night draws to a close Vera is in no state to be troubling young men; slumped over the dinner table she catches 40 winks.
