Outspoken pastry chef Claudette certainly has the skills but will her mistimings leave her cooking half-baked?
Professional cook Claudette can talk a good talk but the pressure's on to put her meals where her mouth is.
Pastry chef Claudette could be seen to have an advantage in the cooking stakes especially when it comes to dessert, owning her own patisserie business. But the reasoning behind her entrepreneurship could give cause for concern; "I didn't get on with any bosses. They were all men and I hated them," explains Claudette.
Eager to impress she's opted for a duo of starters and desserts, but her seafood chowder option could be a turn off for shellfish-phobic Clive. What's the best way to make diners adventurous? Ply them with booze. And Claudette's cocktails certainly pack a punch.
But while the drinks are flowing freely the conversation isn't. Even chatterbox Sonia is struggling to make small talk and the group resort to discussing the finer points of butter. Roll on Claudette and her pert opinions.
The timings are a bit off and her guests have been kept waiting but eventually it's dessert time. Everyone has high expectations about Claudette's pastry but has her rushed preparation left the pudding half-baked?

Claudette's first starter option is a dinner party classic, quick to prepare and delicious to slurp.
Red pepper soup

Chowder is more of an acquired taste but cooked correctly it can conjure up all the delicious aromas of dinner by the sea. Claudette served her soup with homemade bread using a shop-bought bread mix and water.

The pastry chef opted for a rich meaty dish to satisfy her dinner guests livening up chicken breasts with a tasty Stilton stuffing.

Dessert number one on Claudette's menu was a great British classic that never fails to round a meal off well.

But it was dessert number two that had everybody interested as Claudette's finely honed pastry skills were put to the test.
