Drag queen, Simon Green, is used to putting on a show but for dinner he's planning a more dapper affair
Simon Green is no stranger to putting on a show. By night he becomes Betty Legs Diamond, the lead drag act at Blackpool's funny girls.
While his guests are expecting some high kicking high jinx Simon has a more dapper dinner in mind, complete with quail's eggs, roast lamb and homemade shortbread.
Simon's guests agree dinner is delicious, especially when their host rustles up redcurrant sauce off the cuff to accompany their well done meat. But they can't hide their disappointment that Simon is not in drag.
"My work is my work and my home life is my home life," he tells them. "You can see Betty Legs Diamond any day of the week but I'd rather you see me as a person."

After snacking on nibbles of olives and cold meats, Simon served a starter of asparagus and Hollandaise with quail's eggs and Parma ham.

It was an impressive rack of Bowland lamb for main course with pea and mint risotto and a stack of seasonal veg.

To round off his evening Simon served homemade shortbread and strawberry towers.
