More familiar to London’s top restaurants, self confessed first time chef Rowland is a virtual stranger to his own kitchen. In the celebrity special his meringues are stuck to the baking tray, his pancakes are falling flat and for once our comedian host just can’t get his timings right.
After an hour and a half Rowland’s celebrity guests have had nothing but champagne to numb the hunger pains and Aggie for one is starting to get snappy. A miniscule caviar starter doesn’t do a lot to satisfy – especially for Linda who is not a fish egg fan. But a hefty main course of chicken in white wine and vegetables works a treat and even Toby is impressed.
So will it be first prize for funny man Rowland? Or will the joke be on him?
