Night three in London and it’s the turn of seventy year old opera singer Patricia Varley who’s hoping to impress her guests with a retro menu of dinner party hits straight out of the seventies.
With some real foodies amongst the group she’s going to have to work hard to convince them that the classics from the past are better than any fancy nouvelle cuisine.
Guests Richard and Linda are highly amused by the pineapple on sticks served with the sherry – while the prawn cocktail starter is the real retro thing.
With 15 minutes to fill until the main course is ready, opera singer Patricia performs I Could Have Danced All - inspiring fishmonger Jonathan to describe the evening as the most surreal of his life.
So will Patricia’s evening persuade her guests that her seventies style meal is better than any modern day competition? Or will the scores on the doors reveal that some things are best left in the past?
