Tanya Jay served up 17 fiery-hot dishes to her Come Dine With Me Kent guests
Setting the benchmark in Kent is Sri Lankan petrol station supremo, Tanya Jay. With a doting husband, four obedient children and her very own driver, this pampered princess is more used to being served than serving up. But what Tanya wants, Tanya gets and right now, she wants cold, hard cash.
Tanya's mission is to put Sri Lankan cuisine on the culinary map. She's rustling up a gut-busting 17 dishes, each one packed with enough spice to set the steeliest curry quaffer reaching for the raita. Among them, lamb curry made from lung, liver, heart, kidney and neck. Yum yum.
While Tanya dishes up, her dinner guests take a tour of their host's house. Joker of the pack, Trevor Smith pockets a few of Tanya's thousands of bangles to wear as earrings later in the evening. Just one of his many, many, many japes that threaten to make this a long week.
Still, Tanya's to much of a pro to show her ruffled feathers. Ignoring Trevor's request for "kebabs, darlin'", she even wipes his food smeared face after one too many glasses of red wine takes its toll.

Tanya served four starters including tiger prawn devil, and chilli chicken.

Among the ten main course dishes, were cabbage fry, fried vegetable rice, ghee dhal, runner beans and potato fry and chicken curry.

Dessert was a double whammy of faluda and fresh fruit salad.
