Customer Service Manger Ian Cook, in Liverpool, tries to grab the top prize by planning his cooking as a military operation. Armed with the freshest ingredients, his own recipes and a superb knowledge of his critical guests, he tries to win them over one by one, by appeasing their particular tastes.
He serves wild Sea Bass for fishmonger Dan, the best wines for Terry and pays tireless attention to vegan Nikki but how he will fare with stickler for manners and etiquette Margaret? Only the table setting will tell…
So far Ian has been the quiet man in the group and his guests are just as unsure of him as they are of his cooking. He quickly tantalises their tastebuds with his first course of butternut squash and lentil soup and Dan, his biggest critic, announces that Ian has cooked the best croutons he’s ever tasted! And that’s just for starters!
But he’s left himself plenty of work to do, with another three tricky courses, each one including a separate vegan option.
So can the dark horse continue to surprise his other guests and romp home in first place? Or will he fall at the next hurdle as he battles to serve his complicated cuisine?
