It’s day two of the food lovers’ competition in Ayr, and the turn of college lecturer Elaine Munro. Elaine’s hoping her no-nonsense approach to dining will score highly.
She’s serving spicy tomato and lentil soup, followed by scottish salmon wrapped in parma ham with avocado and crème fraîche dressing. For dessert, there’s strawberry and raspberry cheesecake.
Elaine’s hoping to improve on the food served by the first night’s host, Maureen McKissock, whose spicy chicken curry was a bit too fiery.
When the guests arrive, Elaine offers them champagne, but businessman Forbes Robertson only wants to drink tea. Maureen admits to hating salmon, but smart Elaine has a back up plan and offers an alternative of fillet steak.
All is going well until Elaine finds that her avocado dressing has turned a dirty grey colour. Will her relaxed hosting save her from being marked down and knocked out of the running?
