Clean-freak Nikki's hoping her polished pad will win her the votes when she plays host in Come Dine With Me Birmingham

First up of the Birmingham hopefuls is house-proud thirty-something, Nikki. Clean-freak, Nikki, likes things just so and she's not shy about imposing her house rules. She's asked her guests to bring slippers with them and to check their socks have no holes. Ooh, get her.

Nikki's serving her guests a selection of hors d'ouvres, but if the thinks they'll be impressed by her natty nibbles she hadn't figured on these demanding diners.
"Crudite? What can you say?" sneers recruitment consultant (and apparently budding poet) Ian.

Her guests arrive and get free range of her perfect pad while Nikki struggles with the dinner. Cooking has taken second place to cleaning, now she's hours behind schedule and still hacking away at a sweet potato.

It's three hours before the main course finally arrives and with nothing but alcohol swirling around in their tums, some of the guests are getting fruity.
"Cooking food is like foreplay," gushes singleton Suzie.
It could be a long week.

Luckily for the ravenous guests, there's not much cooking in these sweet peppers with sun-dried tomatoes and mozzarella.

It might have been a long time coming but there mountains of Nikki's main course, chicken and parsley casserole on a bed of sweet potatoes served with green beans.
