Host on night two of Come Dine With Me Birmingham is opinionated recruitment consultant and gym bunny, Ian Harvey

"If someone doesn't hold my interest, I make it so obvious," warns Ian, "I pretty much ignore them."
Trainee wine merchant and all round charmer, Ian, thinks he's a cut above the rest and is confident his combination of great timing and even greater wine will see him pocket the prize money. He'll be using his skills to match a different wine to each course and hoping his guests stay sober enough to taste them.

But despite meticulous planning, Ian's dinner party plans get away from him and his guests arrive to another chaotic kitchen. An hour behind schedule, Ian tries to tempt his rivals with a tray of tapas and a generous glass of sherry before disappearing back into the kitchen.

Macho marketing manager, Wayne, is quick to rain on his rival's parade complaining about cold plates and an overcooked pork roll. And it's about to get worse for the wannabe wine buff. As midnight approaches, Ian sees his chances of victory go up in smoke as his desiccated desert sets off the fire alarm. Never mind Ian, charcoal's supposed to help the digestion.

Starter

Seared scallops

Cheffing to impress, Ian served his guests seared scallops on roast tomato and red peppers with thyme and balsamic dressing.

Main Course

Spiced pork

Slightly overdone but still impressive, Ian dished up lightly spiced pork fillets wrapped in spinach and bacon with Maderia sauce. Boozy seems to be the order of the day with his eager guests.

Dessert

Brioche sandwiches

Ian served his guests a slightly charred pud of brioche chocolate sandwiches with ice cream and berries.
