It might be Britain's most popular dish, but authentic Indian curry appears on the Come Dine With Me menu for the first time in this episode. And it promises to be a memorable one for the diners, with cook Ishrat Gazala vowing that she'll make her food hot enough to burn the house down in the final meal of the week before the Glasgow gourmets discover who's won.

  2. Re the rice recipe, it's paprika that was added and if you go to the actual chicken curry recipe and scroll down to the comments someone has put the recipe there....

Hi i came looking for the rice recipie as well but most of it is pretty clear except what the brown powder was but it doesnt really matter it could be whatever you fancy. im guessing that it wouldnt be gara masala as the curry had that so i would use chili powder,paprika,cummin,or tumerick whatever complements your main meal

  4. I too like everyone else came on the site looking for the recipe for the rice served with the curry. I was looking for confirmation on what spices were added. I can now only assume that the spices added to the onions are garam masala and chili. I will try this and see what it is like. I did used to have a pilau rice recipe (now lost) that I used to put garam masala into.

I have watched the video of Ishrat cooking her meal and when it came to the Rice Cooking all that could be noted was she chopped some onion into a pot with what looked like Chilli powder and let the onion burn so the brown colour infused into the rice when being cooked. For each cup of rice add one and half cups of water. Cover and cook for twenty minutes.

  15. I recently watched the episode with Ishrat Gazala menu which looked fab. I was looking on the web page for the easy receipe for rice that she made to go with the curry but couldnt find it. Is it possible to email the recipe especially as she said it was foolproof!! thank you Joan
