Clams are a delicious seafood variety used widely throughout Spain. They're easy to cook but have to be boiled live to avoid poisoning.
Tommi's tip to check they're alive is to bang them on the table until they open a little and then watch to see if they close up again.
The ones that close can be cooked, the ones that don't should be thrown away.
