Contenders from around the world compete to be crowned 'Best wine to accompany a Chinese meal'

The judges commend the remaining competitors on their compatibility with Chinese food, but there can only be one winner, so on with the final. After a strong showing in the heats, China appears to be a real contender. However, its final appearance isn't as well received by the judges.

On the other hand, the UK has great staying power and the judges reckon this drop would go down extremely well at a barbeque.

Speaking of barbeques, it's the turn of the Australian entry, but one of the judges soon wonders how this wine made it through the heats. Another believes it "tastes like the floor of a nightclub", although it's hard to tell whether this is a positive or a negative comment.

The Spanish wine is still going strong. Its sweet, clean taste makes it a great accompaniment to the Chinese meal. Great technique from Spain there.

The Hungarian offering is a firm favourite with the judges - it'll run all night, but it won't trample all over your head the next morning.

Argentina makes a final play to sway the judges. There won't be any intervention from the Hand of God, but will there be any dancing on the streets of Buenos Aires tonight?

And so to the results. Tension mounts as the scores are calculated and the contestants wait to hear the outcome.

Argentina - a fine display from the South Americans.

The UK takes silver - they'll be pleased with that back at home.

Gold

And finally, the ultimate accolade goes to - Hungary.
Congratulations, or as they say in Budapest, gratulálunk!
