Behind the fence news and tips from the people who bring you this season's favourite bird. By Anna Jean Hughes
We talk to Rona and Nevil Amiss who raise turkeys on Higher Fingle Farm, a 57-acre, all grassland farm on the edge of Dartmoor, to find out how home freezing affects your Christmas bird.
How much do your turkeys cost? Our turkeys are £9 per kg.
How have bird-flu and grain prices affected the price or availability of your turkeys? Bird flu has not affected sales although we did have a dip in sales of chicken when the latest outbreak was announced. Grain prices have pushed up the price. We are currently paying £360 for organic food.
Are you in the middle of a turkey buying rush or do you think more People are trying different meats at Christmas?
