To help you get the best out of your ethical treats, we took to the streets to blind taste-test a range of the Fairtrade chocolate bars available at stores near you

Britain is a nation that loves its chocolate and we're warming to brands that offer a better deal to cocoa producers. Between 1998 and 2006 sales of Fairtrade chocolate grew from £1 million to £29.7 million and the market shows no signs of slowing down.

With so many new Fairtrade chocolates on the market we got a panel of joe-public chocolate lovers to give us their verdict and found out which bars had them reaching for their walllets and which ones had them reaching for the bin.
