6. Italy – Arancini
6. Italy – Arancini (Image 6 of 10)
A Sicilian specialty, arancini are little fried rice balls filled with ragu, smoked salmon or spinach and ricotta and coated in crispy breadcrumbs. Named after the Italian word for oranges they're a little fattier than their namesake fruit but, as you'd expect from the Italians, this is street food at its finest. If you're worried about the calories, eat one on the way to the gym.
Make your own arancini.
