'Bunnies' as the locals call them, consist of hollowed out bread bowls filled with curry sometimes containing meat. The Durban dish has an unsettling history as it's believed to have been a method of serving 'untouchable' workers during apartheid. Now enjoyed across South Africa bunny chow is a deliciously hearty street food treat. It's a strictly hands on affair so be prepared for messy fingers - but using a spoon just wouldn't be the same.
