The NHS would have needed its own health check 10 years ago, such was the stress-inducing effect of the football fan diet. So the big wigs at Villa decided to team up with the NHS Heart of Birmingham Primary Care Trust, to work with young people in the community to encourage them to whip themselves into shape. "For us to provide healthier alternatives to fatty pies and burgers makes sense, we have a responsibility to practise what we preach," says club spokeswoman Claire Huggins. "But challenging the pie and pint culture is a big hurdle." Despite that, you'll see the healthy approach reflected in its kiosk food, including 95 per cent meat burgers, as well as fibre-rich jacket potatoes. Or the spicy chicken baguette at 1.5g salt, 2.3g fat and 302 calories.
