Situated away from the tourist-ridden streets of central Paris, this beautifully designed restaurant sits amongst the back streets of the 17th arrondissement. The setting is in an old carriage from the Orient Express overlooking the busy train tracks below, creating a magical atmosphere for a romantic lunch or dinner.
The menu if typically French, serving thick steak, tender duck and hearty salmon dishes at reasonable prices (20-30 Euros for a main course). An a la carte malt whisky selection, and surprisingly cheerful Parisian waiters mean you will not be disappointed if you take the slight detour out of the centre of the capital. Wagon Bleu is a pleasant, leisurely half hour walk from the Champs-Elysées.
