The Jadkin butter spreader
It's an age old problem – you've got a lot of bread to butter and you're pushed for time. Cooks in the 1950s weren't prepared to settle for shoddy sarnies with hunks of uneven marge. They'd pop a block of butter into the metal slot and slide it across their bread to ensure an even spread.
