4Food took a tour of the Women's Wimbledon canteen to find out what this year's tennis champs are served up

Susie Parker-Simmons and Kathleen Ann Stroia, sport diet and health specialists from the Sony Ericcsson World Tennis Association (WTA) Tour take us on a tour around the Wimbledon women players' canteen and explain the best dishes to serve a champ

The goal of all players is to win! Nutrition is a vital ingredient for gaining successful sporting performance. The players diet is important both for physiological and psychological reasons: to ensure an appropriate energy and fluid supply for training and competition; to optimise well being; to prevent hunger whilst competing; to assure a psychological edge and to aid recovery.

When players travel away from home they rely on the tournament dining service, the hotel, and local restaurants to provide them with appropriate meals to aid their success. For Wimbledon the guidelines for the dining services are: performance foods, sport specific and international.
